Every year Suncoast Casino sets up their iconic pop-up beach-side SUNCafe lounge out on the lush Casino lawns, just by one of Durbs’ best swimming spots. No ocean-facing holiday is quite complete without a lazy lounge by the waves, drink in hand, and the SUNCafe pop-up bar does just that. It kicked off with the commencement of the holiday season earlier this month, and will be open every day until 10 January 2016. The weather is hot, the vibe is chilled and the music is pumping.
Cool off with a cocktail and hit one of the hammocks
Access is free and various areas are set up, geared for relaxing and socialising. There’s a shaded deck, with chairs and tables, attended to by the lovely Suncoast Spa ladies. You can have a drink while you indulge in a hand, head or foot massage at the same time. Chaise longues, hammocks, bean bags and umbrellas dot the open area in front of the well-stocked bar. Coolers, beers and ciders are on offer, as well as soft drinks. For people with little ones, there’s a safe sectioned off area at the entrance, providing activities and games to keep small sunlovers amused. The majority of the area, however, being a bar, is restricted to the grown ups.

If you are in the party mood, the SUNcafe will feature musical talents and DJ duos such as Wobbly & NAG, DJ Phumz & DJ Leleh, Funksoul & JNR B, F Easy & Teabag, DJ Meech & DJ Deepsoul along with pop sensation, Eston. To make sure that the fun never stops, exciting brand activations and competitions have been organised with great prizes up for grabs.
A fun photo booth is set up on the deck area. Buying a drink entitles you to a free photo, so you can have your best side captured beach-side!
SUNCafe opens daily at 11am till 6:30pm and entry is FREE. Make sure to catch the Pop, RnB and Dance music countdowns every day from 11am to 2pm along with live sets from performing DJs from 2pm to 6pm. And don’t forget your shades and sunscreen!
