When I attended this event last year, it was a revelation. This, people, was the event that showed me that Durban has what it takes to be a flavour force to be reckoned with. I always suspected that we had a lot more going on under those unassuming menus. And when I sampled the incredible plates of food, it was apparent that things have evolved far beyond just another curry. Some of those plates of food were so good I had them twice. If you went last year, you’ll know what I’m talking about! And for those who missed it, now’s your chance!
This year, PnP, in association with Orbit Chewing Gum, will be hosting the event on the weekend of Friday 26 July to Sunday 28 July at Suncoast Casino. 8 of Durban’s top notch restaurants will showcase signature dishes. Last year, there was a mix of savoury and sweet (and it was tough going trying to decide!) on the menus and I imagine it will be much the same. There will also be beers, cocktails and wines (there was a whiskey pairing last time that was just phenomenal).
